How do you educate your patients about the treatments they need and how to keep problems from reoccurring?
Our Doctor(s) and/or Staff presents key information & demonstrations and we present our Patients with handouts (pamphlets, etc.) for them to take home.
What do you do when there are multiple treatment options available for a patient's dental condition?
We present our Patients every possible treatment approach and then work with them to determine the Treatment Plan that best meets their individual needs.

TMJ Treatment

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome or TMJ joint disorders are medical problems related to the jaw joint. The TMJ connects the lower jaw (mandible) to the skull (temporal bone) in front of the ear. Certain facial muscles control chewing. Problems in this area can cause head and neck pain, a jaw that is locked in position or difficult to open, problems biting, and popping sounds when you bite. The TMJ is comprised of muscles, blood vessels, nerves, and bones. You have two TMJs, one on each side of your jaw. Muscles involved in chewing (mastication) also open and close the mouth. The jawbone itself, controlled by the TMJ, has two movements: rotation or hinge action, which is opening and closing of the mouth, and gliding action, a movement that allows the mouth to open wider. The coordination of this action also allows you to talk, chew, and yawn.
Extractions...

Better overall oral health.
A tooth extraction might be indicated if repairing a damaged tooth is not practical. a) Broken, cracked, or extensively decayed teeth can be extraction candidates. Some teeth will have extensive decay (dental caries) or else will have broken or cracked in such an extreme manner that an extraction might be considered the best, or at least a reasonable, solution. Of course there will be a number of factors that will come into play with any specific situation. In some cases the obstacles that present themselves might be so formidable that a repair for the tooth is simply not possible. In other cases the cost of needed dental treatment or else a questionable long-term outlook for the success of the treatment may be the reason an extraction is chosen.
