Dr. Deborah Backiel

I've been going to this practice for a couple of years for cleanings. This time I was told I had to get 2 fillings. They quoted me a price so I went ahead with it, but when I went to check out, the cost was over twice what they quoted me. They gave me some BS about my insurance only covering a certain amount, but they didn't tell me this when they quoted me the price before doing to work. If I had known I would have had the option to wait since the work didn't need to be done right away. Not only that, but I had to go back 2 different times for them to fix the work they did because I was in pain after they did the work. This practice is only good for cleanings, but don't let the "doctor" near your mouth or your wallet.

We regret the unfortunate miscommunication which occurred. We did send out two emails to all patients, informing them that Dr. Rob would no longer be with us because he was relocating to Blue Bell, PA. In those same emails, we also announced that Dr. Catherine West, DMD would be joining our practice, and to view her credentials on our website. These credentials are still available to view by all current and future patients. Further, during our confirmation call process, we let any patient who was originally scheduled under Dr. Rob know about the change. Thank you again for your comment.

We had a horrible experience at Dr. Backiel & Associates. The dentist we regularly saw left the practice, but nobody told us. We showed up for the appointment and had a new dentist who did not know our medical history, and did not have the specialty training we required. Yet, we were not aware of the lack of specialty training until the end of the appointment! She misrepresented herself, and gave us bad advice/guidance about how to proceed. It was a mess. When we had to deal with the office later, as we were transitioning to a new dentist, the office staff was not helpful and was downright rude. We will never go back there. We do not trust them and believe they breached medical ethics.
